HR Intelligence - Strategic HR briefings and case studies

Executive Summary ÐAchieving HR's Strategic Potential

This summary and model are based on the findings of the Business Intelligence research programme, The Strategic Role of HR, a study of 200 HR directors and senior managers. The results show that only a third of respondents feel that HR's contribution is seen by line managers as strategically important. The HR managers in this proportion of the respondents were typically consulted early in the strategy planning process, and were able to measure their contribution to the business and delivered services effectively to the organization Ð key requirements for delivering strategic HR. By contrast, other companies in the survey have yet to put in place all the capabilities that would enable them to become more effective strategic partners and enjoy the same level of line management confidence.
