Measuring HRs Business Value, SHRF Workshop
At a Workshop on Measuring HRs Business Value, participants
heard how innovative companies are developing new approaches to
measuring HRs contribution to the business. They also learnt
about the implications of growing stakeholder and regulatory pressure
for HR to report on human capital to external audiences.
During the course of the Workshop, participants were introduced
to the SHRFs Measurement Excellence Model reflecting the evolving
HR measurement agenda. Different aspects of measurement are represented
in a two by two matrix with excellence represented by the effective
delivery of external reporting with relevant information to support
internal decision making. The model also takes into account the
relative quality of HR information management and systems.
A straw poll of participants showed that most were in the bottom
left-hand quadrant of the SHRF Model. However, some said that they
had made significant progress to a mid position on the excellence
curve and had implemented some of the practices.
What participants said about the Measuring HRs Business Value
workshop:
I thought the day was great. The networking aspect was superb.
A good level of experience and interaction and useful presentations.
The subject was very pertinent to my current activities.

The presentations were good, but the most useful part of the
day was the roundtable discussion and getting a feeling of where
people were organisationally. I found it of great value.
